As the saying goes, “everything is bigger in Texas,” and apparently that includes mountain bike parks too. On June 3 TexPlex opens to the public, offering not just a mountain bike park and singletrack trails, but also jet boat rides and a heavy machinery play area.
The Bike Trails
TexPlex has set aside 250 acres for mountain biking at the park, and the trails are closed to both motorized vehicles and pedestrians. On opening day the park will boast four pump tracks with a fifth one coming soon. There will be a slopestyle course, dirt jumps, and eventually a dual slalom course. Judging by the photos, the bike park and trails will include expertly-constructed features like ladder bridges and berms.
The bike park is being designed to offer something for everyone from beginners to pros, and TexPlex will have both rental bikes and professional instructors available for various skill levels. For those who are truly looking to up their game, there’s even an airbag jump training area. Riding the bike park will cost $25 per day for adults, and $15 per day for kids.
Other Experiences
Have you ever wanted to drive a bulldozer? Well, apparently TexPlex is the place to try it! Not only does the park offer a bulldozer playground, they also have excavators and track loaders available for playtime. Pricing isn’t cheap, starting at $170 and going up to $250 but hey, it’s probably cheaper than getting certified.
TexPlex even offers jet boat rides in a 425 horsepower sprint boat that can go from zero to 60 in four seconds. Or, guests can choose to ride with a professional UTV (aka side-by-side) driver through a rock crawling course.
TexPlex is located just south of Dallas and Fort Worth, and will have its grand opening June 3-4, 2017.
