New trails added at Jordie Lunn Bike Park
A new series of trails opened up at Jordie Lunn bike Park in Victoria, BC and it includes a total of nine trails with three more to open by the end of the year. The City of Langford also broke ground on a new clubhouse which has a bike repair station and rental shop. The projects have been funded partially by Lunn’s surviving family and preserve green space in the area, and create a memorial for Lunn and a space for more people to ride.
12 miles of singletrack opened at Estrella in Arizona
The Estrella planned community in Arizona just opened 12 miles of new singletrack dubbed the Lucero Trails. The trails, located west of Phoenix, had been slated to open in 2020.
Ribbon cut on new Oregon trail
The Umpqua Velo Club and Land of Umpqua Mountain Bike Riders joined up to complete a loop trail around the Cooper Creek Reservoir. The 6-mile trail represents the culmination of efforts that began more than a decade ago.
Sinkhole trail re-opens in North Carolina
The USFS recently re-opened the Sinkhole trail in western North Carolina after covering the dangerous former mine shaft for safety reasons. The advanced-rated trail is about two miles long and is located in the Grandfather Ranger district.
Blue Mountain bike park opens for the season

Beginner skills course opened at Ponca State Park
Volunteers with THOR (Trails Have Our Respect) recently constructed and opened a new beginner’s skills course at Ponca State Park in Nebraska.
$100K for new mountain bike park
The city of Benton, Arkansas — not to be confused with Bentonville — recently received a $100,000 grant from the Arkansas Parks and Recreation Foundation to build a new mountain bike park in the city.
Crystal Mountain Bike Park opens Friday with new trails
Crystal Mountain Bike Park in Thompsonville, Michigan opens on Friday with five new trails. The bike park has almost 400ft of vertical and a mix of trails from flowy to rocky.
“The new bike park is the perfect mix between machine-built and hand-cut trails,” Earl Whitney, Crystal Mountain trail builder, said. “We reached out to some riders who came to the sneak-peak event last fall and utilized their feedback when putting on the finishing touches, so we feel like it’s exactly what people are looking for.”
$1.4M Booyeembara Park trail project now fully funded
A recent $800K grant from Lotterywest will go toward a major project at Booyeembara Park in Freemantle, Western Australia that includes mountain bike trails, a pump track, and improved trailhead parking area.
