The town of Rossland, BC, has long been renowned for its expansive mountain bike trail system, including the iconic Seven Summits point-to-point route. Today, the region boasts over 200km (124mi) of mountain bike trails, but it lacks one key feature: a lift-served bike park.
But in 2025, that’s all going to change.
RED Mountain Resort spent the summer 2024 season building out Phase 1 of their new “multimillion-dollar lift-accessed bike park,” which the resort anticipates “will be the centerpiece in transforming RED into a premier four-season hub for adventure.”
While Phase 1 is set to open in 2025, the full build-out of the bike park will take four years, with renowned bike park builder Gravity Logic taking the lead on the project.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with Gravity Logic,” said Andrew Lunt, RED Mountain Resort General Manager. “Their unparalleled experience, including iconic projects like Whistler’s bike park and involvement in over 70 other bike parks across the globe, ensures that each phase of development will deliver world-class trails for all levels of riders.”
The park will be constructed around RED’s Silverlode Chair. Like all modern bike parks, the trails will span the entire range of difficulties, with a mix of jump/flow trails and tech trails. This area of the mountain was already home to a mix of classic singletrack trails, and some of these trails will be incorporated into the new bike park.
Additional pedal-accessed singletrack trails have recently been built near RED Mountain’s RED Chair. Known as the “Millennial Trail Expansion,” local riders have already been enjoying some “bike park style flow trails,” such as Dragon Tail. The Millennial Trail Expansion connects seamlessly to the rest of Rossland’s trail system, creating a truly cohesive mountain bike destination. As a result, the new bike park at RED Mountain is poised to become a massive community asset and an incredible draw for tourists as well.
