Watch: The Monarch Crest Trail Is Still the Definition of Epic

The Monarch Crest mountain bike trail located high in the mountains above Salida, Colorado is the definition of epic mountain biking. Big climbs, incredible views, epic, ripping singletrack descents... this is considered by many to be one of the best trails in the nation and the world for a very good reason!

At this point, I’m not sure I can remember how many times I’ve ridden the Monarch Crest Trail in Salida, Colorado. Doesn’t matter. Every time, whether the sun shines bright, I’m wading through hip-deep snow, getting pelted with hail as I cross the Continental Divide, or watching legendary frame builder Don McClung cruise past rocking a rigid singlespeed, the Crest brings the big show.

Tough climbs, incredible views, ripping descents… and big smiles.

Every time.
