Nimble 9 (N9) owners have enjoyed varying success stuffing plus-sized 27.5″ tires in previous generations of the all-steel, all-mountain 29er we recently highlighted as one of the most capable, hardcore hardtails, but that changes with the introduction of the all-new, Nimble 9 Boost. While most N9 features have carried over for this newest iteration, the increasing interest in 27.5+ tires coupled with the rest of the advantages that Boost spacing offers, it’s yet another step towards progression that Canfield has never been afraid of. The Nimble 9 is also the first Canfield bike to get the hub width update.
From The Brothers
We don’t believe full suspension bikes should get to have all the fun–that’s why we crafted a 4130 chromoly 29er hardtail that’s ready to get rowdy. The N9 combines the revered ride quality of a steel frame with our signature slack and low Canfield 29er all-mountain geo. Fresh for 2017, the N9 receives Boost 148 rear hub spacing, reach is stretched by more than an inch on all sizes for a roomier cockpit, and seat tubes are shortened for increased maneuverability when you drop the saddle. Whether you’re a masochist building a singlespeed or you just want keep it real with an aggressive all-mountain steel hardtail, the N9 is ready to roll.
When someone brings up Canfield, usually two words come to my mind: “downhill” and “fun.” And with names like “Riot,” “Nimble,” and “Yelli Screamy” (the full-suspension 29er, steel hardtail, and alloy hardtail, respectively), what else would you expect. But to say a Canfield bike is “fun” is such an understatement. With a history so rich in downhill biking, the Brothers’ sole focus on geometry designed to do nothing less than party on the mountain has translated well in the bikes they design.
