Are you dreaming of dusty laps in a warm sunlit bike park? With a retail price of $5,399 (€4,499), the new 175mm aluminum Canyon Torque:ON e-bike could pay for itself after a few summers of skipped lifts — depending on lift ticket prices and frequency of course. All of the Canyon e-bikes will now come with a Shimano EP8 motor, and the Spectral models also receive a larger battery for longer adventures.
The massive Torque:ON single-crown DH rig rolls on a pair of 27.5″ tires, unlike the other mixed-wheel platforms in the Canyon electric lineup. In the US, the bike will come with a single 504-Wh battery, while customers in other markets can order a second battery when purchasing the bike. Additionally, there will only be a single model available in the US, the Torque:ON 8, while a second Torque:ON 9 build will retail for €6,299 in Europe.
On the geometry table, the Torque:ON has a nice and slack 63.5° head tube angle, a 485mm reach for the size large aluminum frame, a 15mm bottom bracket drop, and short 430mm chainstays with space for up to 2.6-inch-wide tires.
Torque:ON 8 builds include a 180mm RockShox ZEB fork, 4-piston brakes, and a burly set of DT Swiss M 1900 wheels with Maxxis Minion DHF and DHR II tires in their dual-ply casing. Due to its use of a shock-extension the Torque:ON is not coil-compatible.
