Canyon Bikes, a behemoth of the consumer-direct business model, is coming to the US late summer/early fall, 2017. We’ve seen other, smaller brands such as Commencal and YT Industries come to the US over the past couple years with success. Both those companies offer great bikes at impressive price points, but neither has a line up as deep as Canyon’s.
They offer a complete range of mountain bikes from entry-level aluminum hardtails, to carbon fiber fat bikes, trail bikes, and a World Cup-worthy DH rig. On top of that, Canyon has a full complement of road, triathlon, and commuter bikes. Canyon is still finalizing pricing for the US market, but exceptional value is the expectation.
Sea Otter was the first opportunity for many in the US – including myself – to see Canyon’s bikes in person. From what I saw, the fit and finish on their various models on display was top-notch. With pretty bikes, killer spec, and aggressive pricing, Canyon is poised to shake up the US market.
