H&I Adventures wrote to fill us in on a trip they’re running in the Sierra Nevada region of Spain, and, as you can see from the photos above and on their site, it looks incredible.
Let’s see here. Do we want to ride mountain bikes in the Spanish mountains, enjoying wine and tapas along the way? Don’t even need to reach for the magic 8 ball on that one, because yes. Yes we do.
Euan Wilson, H&I Adventures director, explains: “The ethos of this tour is to circumnavigate the Sierra Nevada mountain range, ride as much singletrack as possible, stay in authentic, quirky mountain accommodation, eat incredible local food, and really get under the skin of Spanish life and culture with a group of like-minded adventurers.”
As you might imagine, taking a premium pedaling trip to Spain comes at the cost of a few pesetas. Actually, it comes at the cost of a few Euro, since the pesetas went the way of the Biopace chainring in 2002. Nevertheless, the prices are quoted in pounds and dollars. It’ll run you £1300, or $2120. Might want to just pay in pounds since they want fewer of those.
As of today, in fact, £1300 is $2205, so you’re actually saving a few bucks paying in dollars. USA! USA! USA!
Whatever your method of payment, overseas travel is always fun, especially when visiting a country as beautiful and as perfectly suited to the mountain bike as Spain is. If you listen carefully, you can hear the Singletracks team emptying their piggybanks and rummaging through the parts bin for eBay sales items. Let’s do this, Spain!
Check out what H&I have going on here on their site.
