Whether due to scorching hot weather or Coronavirus, more riders are sweating inside these days, and Elite has a new trainer to make that experience more enjoyable. It’s boost through axle compatible and works with most training software and sensors. The Italian designed training unit will be available in stores and online in September for $949.99.
Elite claims that the Direto XR measures the watts your legs turn over with ± 1.5% accuracy with its built in Optical Torque Sensor (OTS). This machine also simulates up to a 24% climb gradient, so you won’t have any trouble asking your legs to give full power.
Additionally, this new living room steamer is quiet. Thanks to the direct-mount configuration, Elite says that “the only noise you’ll hear is the chain itself when you’re shifting gears while working out… and likely your own labored breathing.”
On the software front, the Direto XR is said to easily integrate with TrainerRoad, Rouvy, Kinomap, Bikevo, Zwift, and many more. It comes with a 12-month membership to Elite’s My E-Training software and a free month of Zwift membership.
