I've never heard of Kokoda but it seems like La Ruta might have been an even more extreme choice for the "jungle environment."
I also never understood the appeal of the "death road" in Bolivia. For starters, it's a ROAD that cars and buses are able to navigate. Does anyone even still ride this on mountain bikes? The latest cyclist death stats are from 1998--that's 16 years ago!
