Lennard Zinn has an interesting article over on Velonews this week where he looks back at some of the advancements in bike tech over the past 25 years. I have to admit I didn’t realize Lennard had his own bike company (Zinn Cycles, celebrating its 25th anniversary) – I just always thought Zinn was just some whiz mechanic (he did, after all, write the book, Zinn and the Art of Mountain Bike Maintenance).
While the article does have a good bit of roadie talk he also briefly touches on the 29er phenomenon and other MTB related tech over the years. Apparently Zinn studied physics at good old Colorado College in the Springs and was on the scene in the early days of mountain bike frame building.
Anyway, enough history – get out and ride this week!
