Norco had several new and updated mountain bikes on display at Interbike 2015. New for this year is a 27.5+ hardtail, dubbed the “Torrent 7.”
The Torrent 7 is a budget-friendly hardtail, and is Norco’s first-ever “650B Plus trail mountain bike.” We’re referring to this new tire size as 27.5+, but regardless, this bike “is an aggressive hardtail mountain bike with a quick but stable manner that will have riders whooping with joy on flowing singletrack, dominating rocks and roots on technical downhills, and tackling steep, loose climbs with ease,” according to Norco. “Novice and experienced riders alike will benefit from the increased traction and control of the Torrent.”
The Torrent 7 is available at two pricepoints: $2,425 for the 7.1 and $1,450 for the 7.2. However, even the 7.1 is budget-minded, thanks to the affordable but very capable SRAM GX 1×11 drivetrain and RockShox Yari Plus RC 130mm/15mm fork. Avid DB5 brakes, WTB Scraper rims, a KS E-Ten dropper post, and Schwalbe Nobby Nic 2.9″ tires round out the build kit.
Also new for this year is the Revolver FS race bike with 100mm of travel. This bike is available in a wide range of component builds, to meet both your budget and how serious you are about getting on the podium: complete bike prices range from $3,050 US to $7,415. The Revolver is available in both 29″ and 27.5″.
Finally, the Sasquatch fat bike has been updated to fit up to 4.8″ tires. The latest top-tier builds come with a Bluto, with complete bikes ranging in price from $1,875 US to $2,575.
