Singletracks is at Interbike and Outdoor Demo this week checking out the latest and greatest mountain bikes and MTB products on the market. One of the first that we spotted at Outdoor Demo today was the new Wednesday fat bike from Surly.

The Wednesday takes geometry cues from the Ice Cream Truck, with trail-ready geometry that’s ready to shred–even through the techy stuff. However, you may need to ease up a bit, as the stock Wednesday comes with a steel frame and a rigid fork… but granted, the oversized headtube is ready to accept a suspension fork of any type.

The Wednesday is designed to fit with Surly’s “Omniterra” line, allowing the rider to rig up any long-travel cargo system they desire. Thanks to three bottle mounts and a variety of braze ons on both the fork and the frame, the rider, can setup just about any rack, bottle cage, or bag setup they desire.

The Wednesday is spec’ed with a SRAM 2×10 X5 drivetrain and Tektro mechanical disc brakes.

At only $1,500 MSRP, this is an affordable 5″-tired fat bike that could be great for early entrants into the fat bike market and bikepackers alike.
